"Who let the dogs out?"

And other common questions

ARE YOU BONDED AND INSURED?

Absolutely. We are bonded and insured through Pet Sitter's Associates.

WHERE DO YOU WORK? WHAT'S YOUR "ZONE?"

As you can probably tell from our name, our primary place of business is West Hollywood. However, we also service Hollywood and the Fairfax / Melrose area. Frequently though, we venture outside these zones, so please don't hesitate to contact us.

WHAT ARE YOUR BUSINESS HOURS?

Our business hours are Monday through Saturday 9 AM - 5 PM. (If you need help on Sunday or after hours, please reach out and we may be able to accommodate).

Our team is always available to connect with you via email. Once you have been paired with a Walker-Sitter, you will have their personal cell phone number for further communication.  Since this is the case, we kindly ask that you respect our business hours and only email us after 5 PM.

DO YOU WALK MY DOG INDIVIDUALLY OR IN A GROUP?

We walk dogs individually or with their family members. This one-on-one experience enables your pet to get a lot more attention, and better exercise than in a traditional "pack walk." It's also safer for your dog and the walker.

However, we do offer playdates! If your dog is more social and already has a friend nearby, we can walk them together!

CAN I HAVE THE SAME WALKER-SITTER EACH TIME?

Yes! Unlike app-based companies or large pet care organizations, once you are connected with a WeHounds Walker-Sitter they are yours for life! (Well, maybe not life, but you get the point). In other words, you can expect the same person to arrive each time, every time. After all, why would you expose your pet and home to a revolving group of strangers?

Now of course (on occasion), our Walker-Sitters do catch colds or take well-deserved vacations. In these instances, you will be notified immediately and may schedule a meet-and-greet with one of our other fabulous Walker-Sitters  free of charge.

DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER PLANS? CAN YOU CUSTOMIZE?

Sure, let's talk! Send us an email and we'll create something special for your pet.

HOW DO I SCHEDULE A VISIT OR FREE CONSULTATION?

Please email us on our Contact page!

Appointments are not considered booked until you receive a confirmation from us.  No services are conducted without an initial consultation.

CAN YOU GIVE ME AN EXACT TIME OF ARRIVAL ON EACH VISIT?

Due to the constantly changing needs and schedules of other clients, traffic, etc., we cannot guarantee an exact time of arrival on every visit. However, we do work in 3 hour blocks, and if our schedule permits, we will do our absolute best to meet your specific time request or respond to any last minute needs.

WHAT DO I NEED FOR THE FIRST MEET-UP?

This FREE consultation shouldn't take more than 30-45 minutes. To expedite this process, please fill out the Pet Information Sheet. If you're interested in Slumber Parties or Vacation Visits, please also fill out the Attachment Form as well.

At the First Meet-Up, please also have a spare key or lock box code available to give to your Walker-Sitter. The rest of the time will be for us get to know each other, your pet(s) and to discuss any other important details.

HOW DO WE HANDLE KEYS?

At the First Meet-Up, we ask that you provide your Walker-Sitter with a spare key. Although we insure that the keys are coded and stored securely, we understand that some clients may be uncomfortable with their dog walker possessing a key to their home. In this instance, the Walker-Sitter and the Owner need to come up with a safe arrangement for the Walker-Sitter to claim the key and return it after each visit. The Owner does understand that "hiding" the key somewhere entails risks. The best option would be for the Owner to purchase a lock box where the Walker-Sitter may securely claim and return the key each time.

HOW DO I KNOW YOU'VE WALKED MY DOG?

We always send a picture or video of your pet having a blast while you're away or stuck at work!

As an added measure, we can also provide a sign-in sheet at the consultation. Each time we visit, our Walker-Sitter will clock in and out - detailing the times of their visit. Please keep the sheet (and a pen) somewhere near the front door and in the same spot consistently.

MAY I GIVE MY PET SITTER OR DOG WALKER A GRATUITY?

Absolutely. However, if you do leave a tip, please mark it clearly as such.

DO YOU PICK UP MY DOG'S WASTE OUTSIDE?

Of course, but we do ask that the Owner provides the bags.

WHAT KIND OF WEATHER DO YOU WALK IN?

With the exceptions of lightning or torrential downpour, we walk in all types of weather. On hotter days, we are extra careful to prevent overheating, and we always stick to the shade as much as possible. On rainy days, we also walk, but we request that the Owner leaves us a towel to dry their pet's feet. If the weather becomes extreme or dangerous during our visit, we will cut the walk short and play inside instead. We always stay for the entire visit.

IF MY DOG HAS AN "ACCIDENT" BEFORE YOU ARRIVE, WILL YOU CLEAN IT UP?

Sure thing. If we notice that your dog has made a small mess in one of the common areas of your home (kitchen, living room) we will gladly clean it up for no additional charge. Please be aware that larger messes (bodily, environmental or otherwise) as well as the destruction of upholstery, furniture, etc. are not something we can help with. We have many pets to see and can't exceed our stay to clean up larger accidents.

DO YOU TAKE CARE OF OTHER PETS I MAY HAVE?

Yes, we can! Please let us know ahead of time and leave detailed instructions on how best to care for them. You can fill out the bottom half of the Attachment Form to provide us with that information. Please note that there are additional charges for additional pets.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO YOU HAVE?

We put quality before quantity. WeHounds is a small organization working with a select group of local pet owners - many of whom have been with us for years. The only way we can survive is if there's trust, communication, responsibility and transparency. This results in high customer satisfaction and longterm client relationships. Everybody wins!

WeHounds' Walker-Sitters are all extremely professional and dependable people. Each one of them has been hand-selected by Jeremy, and has been tested extensively on their pet knowledge. All of them have grown up caring for animals and / or are current pet owners. Many of them have worked at pet day care centers, are first-aid certified or have volunteered their time at shelters. Collectively, they have more than 35 years of experience as pet caregivers, and operate under Pet Sitter's Associates bonding and insurance policies. For more information, click here.

I'M CATCHING A PLANE TO HAWAII TOMORROW, CAN YOU JUST WATCH MY PET?

Unfortunately, we must conduct a First Meet-Up before we can care for your pet.

CAN YOU TELL ME HOW MY PET IS DOING WHEN I'M AWAY?

Absolutely!  You'll let us know how you wish to be contacted, and we'll send you photos and brief updates of your loved one's activities.

MY BILL IS MORE THAN I EXPECTED, WHY IS THAT?

We apologize! If you believe that you've been invoiced incorrectly, please let us know immediately and we will remedy the situation. However, first: please double-check our Rates and Services page. There are occasionally surcharges (e.g. out-of-zone, same-day scheduling, holidays, after 5 PM, late fees, transaction fees, etc.) that you are perhaps not accounting for.

DO YOU BOARD DOGS?

Sadly, we do not board dogs at this time. However, Slumber Parties at your home as well as Vacation Visits are available.

WHAT'S YOUR DEAL WITH CATS?

We care for cats too! We are more than happy to schedule Vacation Visits with your cats while you're away.

WHAT'S A SLUMBER PARTY?

That's just our terminology for overnight pet sitting. A Walker-Sitter arrives at your home around 8 PM. If your dog has not eaten, he/she is fed and then taken for a nice, long walk. There's plenty of playtime before bed. The next morning, your dog is fed breakfast, taken for another healthy walk, and given lots of love before saying goodbye.

During Slumber Parties, we also offer other services such as mail collection, watering plants and laundering for no additional charge (if the machines are on the premises and don't require payment).

When booking a Slumber Party, we require a $50 deposit to reserve the dates, or a 50% deposit if your slumber party occurs over a holiday. These are non-refundable and applied toward the overall cost of your sit. Should your plans change, deposits will not be transferred to other services.

WILL I GET A REFUND ON MY SLUMBER PARTY IF I COME HOME EARLY?

We're sorry, but no. Slumber Parties take the largest chunk of time, and we refuse other clients to give your pet(s) our full care and attention. For this reason, we do not prorate.

DO YOU OFFER HOUSE SITTING?

You bet! If you have low-maintenance pets or even no pets, we're still happy to watch your home. Please contact us to discuss your needs.

WHAT FORM OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

We accept cash, check, credit / debit card and Paypal. Paypal and credit/debit card transactions incur a service fee.

WHEN DO I PAY YOU?

If you book an appointment a la carte, payment is expected at the time of booking or day of service.

For weekly plans, payment is expected on the last day of service for that week. If payment is not received on the final day of service, you may be invoiced a late fee.

For monthly clients, payment is expected on the first day of service for that month.

JUST FOUND OUT I DON'T NEED YOU TOMORROW. WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH CANCELLATIONS?

We understand plans change, however in mutual respect for our time and schedule we need to have a system in place:

Cancellations made with more than 24 hrs. are rescheduled free of charge.

The first cancellation within 24 hrs. may be rescheduled free of charge.
The second cancellation within 24 hrs. incurs a $10 fee.
The third and consecutive cancellations within 24 hrs. will be charged full price.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I FORGOT TO LEAVE ENOUGH FOOD OR MATERIALS FOR MY PET?

We will run to the store and purchase your usual brand of food, or necessary materials, medications, etc. You will be given a copy of the receipt, be invoiced for the purchases and charged a $30 transportation fee.

HOW DO I GET MY KEYS BACK?

If you wish to discontinue service and have your keys on file with us, we will leave them on our final visit. If you have no more visits scheduled, we will return the keys to your home at a convenient time. If you'd prefer we mail you the keys, there will be a $5 mailing charge.

IS MY PRIVACY SECURE?

We offer a confidentiality agreement if requested.

We also safeguard all the information we obtain from you. We are committed to protecting your privacy. We use the information, keys and codes only for the purpose of pet visits and to process payments. All of your information will be stored in a confidential manner.
